The Centre for the Humanities and Medicine at the University of Hong Kong is proud to host the 2026 International Consortium for Healthcare Communication (IC4CH) Symposium. The event brings together world-leading academics from institutions across Australia, Singapore, South Africa, the United States, and the United Kingdom. The Symposium will feature world-leading interdisciplinary research on health(care) communication that addresses burning public health issues. The aim of the symposium is to enhance healthcare practice and training through evidence-based health communication research. Over two days, the event will foster dialogue among researchers, healthcare professionals, policymakers, NGOs, and other stakeholders. While the event highlights the work of IC4CH members, it also creates space for additional scholars and stakeholders to share diverse perspectives, enriching the exchange of ideas. The symposium brings together academics from the global south and the global north to explore pertinent themes and debates in health(care) communication. A special focus will also be dedicated to emerging technologies such as telehealth and AI, emphasizing their impact on clinical communication and healthcare delivery in our rapidly evolving digital landscape.
